Maggie Benedict, popularly known for playing the role of Akhona Miya in the soap opera “Generations”, is celebrating her 40th birthday today.
She was born on February 10, 1981 in Pretoria, she studied acting at Pretoria Tech
Benedict has appeared in films including “Attack On Durfur”(2009), “Step to a Start-Up “(2014) and
“Queen Of the Kwate” (2016). She has received the South African Film and Television Awards for best ensemble cast award for her performance in the 2011 film The Mating Game . During her theatre stint, Benedict has performed at the Civic Theatre in
Showboat and Goldilocks and The Three Bears .
The actress has won the Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2016 for her role on Ashes to Ashes and another Golden Horn Award in 2011 for Best Actress in a Lead Role in a TV Drama
