South African gospel singer Ntokozo Mbambo found herself in the spotlight over the weekend. This was due to her involvement in fellow musician Kelly Khumalo’s drama at the South African Music Awards (SAMA).

Despite winning the Female Artist of the Year award, Ntokozo faced criticism from Kelly, who believed she should have been the winner.

In the midst of the viral controversy, the gospel singer chose to rise above it. In an interview with eNCA, she gracefully attributed her success to God, choosing not to engage with Kelly’s unexpected Twitter rant.

Kelly Khumalo’s surprising social media outburst followed her loss in the Female Artist of the Year category to gospel sensation Ntokozo Mbambo. Opting for a positive outlook, the Lavish Worship hitmaker focused on expressing her gratitude to God during the interview:

“Scripture says that he is faithful even when we are faithless, and that’s exactly what happened this past weekend,” she shared.

Just as they have been doing since last week, netizens stood by her, sending her well wishes.

“Congratulations our superstar. Well deserved Queen Ntokozo. Upwards and onwards nana. We love you. Siyabonga kuwe ikakhulukazi kuNkulunkulu uSomandla umniniwezinto zonke” a fan said.

“Yhoo this lady created stage 10 depression Ku Kelly Khumalo” commented another.
