Late hours of Tuesday, another gas explosion occurred at De Korte Street corner Bertha in Braamfontein Johannesburg.
Unfortunately, this isn’t a one-time event. A week ago, there was a fire outbreak in a five-story building in Joburg. This sad occurrence claimed 77 lives and left more than 50 people injured. More than 200 people lived in the house and they are currently housed In shelters at Bez Valley.
Routes leading to Braamfontein have been temporarily closed by government officials. Also, a good number of emergency services are on the scene.
The exact cause of the unfortunate event is unknown. However, proper offices are carrying out investigations. People have also speculated that neglect and lack of maintenance of infrastructures and pipelines is the cause of the ill occurrences.
