Big Zulu Reveals He Didn't Get Any Compensation For "Paris"

The Nkabi Records CEO shared with Sunday World that there was no formal agreement between him and Mthandeni. This occurred when he requested Lwah Ndlunkulu’s feature in the song. Despite the immense success of the song in 2023, both Big Zulu and his artist received no compensation.

Big Zulu, known for the “Imali Eningi” hit, explained the situation, saying, “Sometimes as artists, we do each other favors for the sake of brotherhood and unity. Now it seems Mthandeni is not keen to work with Lwah Ndlunkulu again because of the runaway success of the song.”

Acknowledging Lwah Ndlunkulu’s rise and success, Big Zulu expressed happiness, noting that her achievements reflect the hard work put in behind the scenes at Nkabi Records.

Despite the song’s celebration as one of the biggest in South Africa in 2023, Lwah Ndlunkulu did not attend the “Paris Song of The Year” event.

The Imali Eningi hitmaker defended her absence, explaining that she tried to reach Mthandeni but couldn’t get through. She emphasized the importance of observing protocols as she is signed under Nkabi Records and cannot perform for free without proper arrangements.
