Bonang Laughs Off Ideas of Her Bringing Bed Bugs From Paris
Over the week, the city of love Paris, has become infested with bedbugs. Bonang, like many other Mzansi celebrities, attended the just concluded fashion week in the city.
There have been reports by media outlets that Paris and surrounding cities have seen an outbreak of bed bugs. On the internet, people have shared videos of bed bugs crawling in public places like hotels, buses, and cinemas.
In light of this, many South Africans are concerned that these A-stars who visited Paris are likely to bring it back with them.
Brushing this off lightly, media personality Bonang Matheba replied to a tweep who asked if she didn’t return with souvenirs.
“I’m home and imbungulu (bed bug) free.” the presenter replied.
Despite no outbreaks since 1950, health experts confirm bed bugs in warm months are not new.
According to CNBC, the French environment ministry says the insects “made a resurgence since disappearing in the 1950s due to international travel and increased resistance to pesticides”.
