The Bulls reportedly have their sights on securing the services of South African-born Scotland international Jaco van der Walt.
According to Afrikaans newspaper Rapport, the Edinburgh playmaker is being lined up as a potential replacement for veteran Morne Steyn.
Steyn’s contract ends in June and the expectation is that the 38-year-old will hang up his boots.
Van der Walt joined Edinburgh from the Lions in 2017 and boasts two Test caps for his adoptive Scotland.

The 29-year-old, who can play flyhalf and fullback, has fallen out of favour with the Scottish national selectors, having made his last Test appearance against Italy at Murrayfield in March 2021.
A return to his country of birth would see Van der Walt link up with Edinburgh teammate Henry Immelman, who will join the Bulls from 1 July.
