Dineo Ranaka Rescued By a Female DJ at a Gig

Popular South African podcaster Dineo Ranaka shared a recent story about how a female DJ came to her rescue, preventing an embarrassing situation at an event.

Ranaka revealed that she had taken on her first DJ and MC gig this year, but she arrived without her USB.

“So I was booked to DJ and MC. I’ve not taken DJ bookings this year because my spirit needed rest from night life. Most of my bookings are at “night life” peak hour and my soul has just been tired so naturally, I honestly wasn’t prepared to DJ. Albeit I knew that was part of my booking contract, somehow my spirit ignored the DJ aspect,” Dineo wrote.

“Because of that I, I had retired my USBs and took them out of my DJ bag and placed them in a safe place at home. I took my DJ bag to the booking but ZERO USBs. Crunch time, I realise no USBs.”

However, Dineo sought help from DJ Hazel, who saved the day.

“STRESSED AF I asked fellow DJ, @hazelonig if I could use her USBs and she let me. I have not been so humbled in a while!”

Ranaka goes on to tell her social media followers what the incident taught her.

“Moral of the story. Trust your humility and ask for help. Help is always willing to help, ONLY if it is truly needed. Also, women really do support each other. THANK YOU HAZEL! I played from her USBs as if they were my own. As if I was prepared. Music is in me. An acquired skill can never be taken away,” Dineo added.
