DJ Tumi ‘DJ Dimplez’ Mooi’s legacy will be kept alive by the family.

He died on 6 March 2022 after suffering a sudden brain hemorrhage.

The legacy will be preserved through his family by hosting his annual Pop Bottles events alongside Rusco Experiential.

Sazi Ngcobo of Rusco Experiential says, “Dimplez created Pop Bottles to be a platform that promotes and supports South African urban culture and lifestyle. And we felt it important to continue this and increase the support and upliftment of the local urban movement.,” he says.

“Pop Bottles holds a very special place in my heart as I have personally been involved with the brand for just under a decade. From being involved in sponsorship of the entity with my time in corporate with Miller Genuine Draft and Moët Hennessy, to Rusco Experiential having been directly involved in the execution of the event through being the agency of former sponsors.”

Sazi revealed that the family endorsed that Dimplez’ vision is kept alive.

“From getting the blessing to continue with the property, the Mooi family is still involved in the property to ensure that we are still aligned with Tumi’s vision. We believe what Tumi would have wanted is exactly what we are doing. To keep his baby and vision alive, to give local hip hop and the culture a platform to shine, and mostly to give people an occasion where they can come and enjoy themselves with their peers,” he adds.
