Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane’s families have announced dates for their memorial services and funerals.
Tibz’s memorial service will be held on 15 February in Observatory and AKA’s memorial will be on Friday 17 February and his funeral on Saturday 18 February during a private ceremony.
“We as the Forbes family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love we have received over the past few days,” The Forbes family said in a statement.
“Kiernan wasn’t just loved by us as a family, but by the nation, as we’ve seen from loved ones, friends, industry colleagues, media tributes, and The Megacy.”
But what came as a shock to many is the fact that DJ Zinhle Jiyane’s husband, Bongani Mörda” Mohosana will not be attending AKA’s memorial service and funeral due to cultural protocol.
DJ Zinhle is the mother of Kiernan’s child Kairo Forbes.
“We’d like to acknowledge our extended family, the Mohosana for their unwavering support during this time. As Bongani Mohosana will be in absentia at the memorial and funeral due to observing cultural protocol.”
