Free State teen arrested after 60-year-old aunt’s bloodied body found at home
Police have arrested a Free State teenager suspected of killing his 60-year-old aunt.
A Free State teenager has been arrested after his 60-year-old aunt was found dead at her home.
Police have not yet ruled out the possibility that she was raped as well.
The gruesome discovery was made by the 18-year-old’s 6-year-old brother.
Free State police spokesperson Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring said the boy had just returned from school on Tuesday at around 14:00 when he discovered the body in a pool of blood.
He said it looked like the woman had been hit on the forehead with a blunt object.
“His mother and police arrived and found that the 60-year-old woman, who is the sister-in-law to the son’s mother, was allegedly murdered, and not excluding the possibility of having been raped.”

Police believe that the child’s 18-year-old brother could be the killer and have arrested him.
Mophiring said preliminary investigations had established that the teenager, who lived in the same house, could be involved after police found evidence that led to his arrest.
He said the teen was expected to appear in Makwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
