Gregory Cleared of Charges in Burna Boy Concert Scandal
US businessman, and investor Gregory Wings, who invested millions of rands in Burna Boy’s canceled concert, and claimed to be defrauded by Ternary Media Group’s CEO, Sedote Nwachukwu, has been exonerated of all criminal charges.
Now, he is determined to pursue justice against those responsible for the debacle.
Recently, Wings was cleared of all charges at the Alexandra Magistrates Court. Meanwhile, Sedote Nwachukwu is now wanted by Sandton police, Midrand police, and Interpol on fraud charges.
Following reports of unpaid service providers, Ticketpro canceled the concert, and Sedote allegedly fled the country. Gregory filed a fraud case against Nwachukwu, accusing him of significant financial losses from their partnership.
Gregory is in the process of suing Ticketpro, First National Bank, and PR companies Cake Media (owned by Thabiso Tshabalala) and Khanya PR (owned by Helga Klizanie) for defamation, extortion, and loss of income during the freezing of his accounts. His lawyer, David Modise, affirmed the legal action, stating that the experience has been traumatic for Gregory, who seeks justice.
Despite the financial setback caused by the case, Gregory has no plans to leave Africa. He has redirected his focus to his expertise in construction, launching an initiative called BAHIA – Building Affordable Housing in Africa.
Gregory emphasizes that his intention was to support black businesses and uplift communities, but his kindness was exploited. His primary goal now is to recover his funds and prevent similar incidents from happening to others.”
