HLE Defends Her Friend Ntokozo Mbambo

Former Joyous Celebration member, Hlengiwe “HLE” Ntombela, subtly responded to Kelly Khumalo while defending her friend Ntokozo Mbambo, an award-winner at the South African Music Awards (Samas).

Kelly, who was competing for the Female Artist of the Year award, claimed that Ntokozo didn’t deserve to win. She cited numbers and accused the Samas organizers of rigging the votes.

In a social media post, Kelly expressed her opinions strongly, stating she had no regrets about her words. Meanwhile, Ntokozo Mbambo remained silent about the controversy.

HLE, who was part of the renowned gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration with Ntokozo, indirectly addressed Kelly’s comments. She shared a photo of Ntokozo proudly displaying her three Samas awards with the caption “Oksalayo.” Additionally, HLE posted an audio clip where she asserted that, regardless of Kelly’s actions or words, Ntokozo is the rightful winner, and nothing can change that fact.

HLE emphasized in the audio that crying, breaking glass, or throwing tantrums won’t alter the reality of Ntokozo’s victory.
