Jamie Foxx Denies Sexual Assault Allegations
Jamie Foxx vigorously denies recent sexual assault allegations made against him. A woman filed a lawsuit in New York on Wednesday, accusing Foxx of sexual assault during an incident reportedly occurring in 2015.
A spokesperson for Foxx has refuted the claims, stating,
“The alleged incident never happened. In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn. That case was dismissed shortly thereafter,”
“The claims are no more viable today than they were then. We are confident they will be dismissed again,” the spokesperson added.
“And once they are, Mr Foxx intends to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against this person and her attorneys for re-filing this frivolous action.”
According to the accusations, Jamie is alleged to have groped the woman and placed his hands under her clothing. Reportedly, her friend stopped the action.
These allegations come under the purview of the Adult Survivors Act. A New York state law that allows such lawsuits to be brought to court, even if the statutes of limitations have expired.
Foxx is the latest in a series of celebrities facing accusations under this law. Also, the deadline for filing such legal action is set to expire at the end of this month.
