Kenny Makweng Passes Away Aged 54

Gospel singer Kenny Makweng, hailing from Dennilton, Limpopo, has sadly passed away at the age of 54.

This comes just two weeks after he was hospitalized due to a stroke caused by brain complications on January 4.

His management company, KennyMak Productions, confirmed his passing in a statement today, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the beloved gospel icon.

The statement urged the public and media to respect the family’s privacy during this challenging time. It also requested prayers for his family, associates, and friends.

Kenny Makweng, a prominent ZCC gospel star renowned for hits like “Lengeloi Laka,” “Ingwe ya mabalabala,” and “Ke Mosione,” began his musical journey in the 90s. He was part of the group called The Rock.

This group, including members Kenny, Mojeremane, Oleseng, and Nkosana (all of whom are now late), released more than 10 albums. The legacy of his musical contributions will be remembered by his fans and the gospel music community.
