He recalls that even as a young boy playing soccer on the streets of Colima, he would feel this sensation when something went wrong in his games, whether they were casual matches or official ones.

Speaking of his father, who is his driving force, Kevin once said, “My dad loved soccer and taught me how to love it. He wanted to play professionally but life took him in a different direction, raising a family. He focused on his studies, my mother, and his children. But he had a plan for one of us to become a professional player, and I was always excited about it. When he passed away when I was eight, I felt I had to do it for him and me, and that’s where my journey began.”

Kevin’s football career started to shape up when he was just 10 years old. Scouts from Pachuca Club discovered his exceptional skills in Colima. His speed and technique impressed everyone, earning him a spot on the list of selected young talents. This opportunity marked the beginning of his journey, but it came at the cost of leaving his family and friends behind.

In April 2019, he represented Mexico in the U-20 World Cup, followed by a call-up to the under-23 squad for the 2019 Pan American Games, where Mexico secured third place.
