Lira And Her Folks Took A Five-Star Trip to Pretoria
South African singer Lerato Moipone Molapo professionally known as Miss Lira expressed gratitude to her parents.
When the star was in Germany about 17 months ago, she suffered a stroke which affected her speech. Lira had to return home to be taken care of properly by her loved ones. The singer has not failed to share her recovery journey with her followers on social media platforms since she started getting better.
Taking to her IG, she shared video clips of her and her parents having the time of their lives on the Blue Train.
“Took my parents on the Blue Train to celebrate life. This 3 day trip was from Cape Town to Pretoria. What an experience,” she captioned the post.
Miss Lira melted hearts recently when she performed at RMB Starlight Classics in Johannesburg. The song was the first after her long break so it was quite emotional.
When she was urged to sing at the event to sing alongside co-stars, she gave a disclaimer.
“I had a stroke last year and I have been learning to speak, I’m in no way ready to sing, but I’m willing to try,”
Not only has she shared her recovery journey online, she has also been on media tours. She sat on her first interview since the incident with Relebogile Mabotja on The Upside of Failure on Radio 702, Lira said she did not take life for granted.
“People have been asking me to share my story but I wasn’t ready because I couldn’t talk. I wasn’t ready to speak in a conversation, but now I’m ready and my speech impediment doesn’t bother me as it did before. I’m here to share my story.”
