Man Arrested In Pretoria With R2m Counterfeit Cash

The Police have arrested a man for who have in his possession, more than R2m in counterfeit money. He is expected to appear at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

According to the police spokesperson, Capt Mavela Masondo he said police acted on the intel it received and went ahead to a room at the guest house.

“Police in Pretoria West received information about two suspicious men who had booked in at a local guest house,”

He further said they discovered two men in which one ran away and the second suspect was caught with R200 and R100 notes.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the notes were counterfeit and worth more than R2m. The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit money. He is expected to appear at the Pretoria magistrate’s court on Monday.”
