Maraza Shares His Struggles Linked to Generational Curse
Maraza shares how generational curses hindered his key life goal.
Renowned rapper Sphamandla Mhlongo, also known as Maraza, recently launched his podcast, named after him, where he candidly discusses the impact of generational curses on his life.
In a heartfelt revelation, the 31-year-old opened up about a generational curse stemming from his late father’s past. This curse has impeded his progress in achieving a crucial life goal, particularly in the context of his wedding plans.
Despite his genuine desire to adhere to traditional practices and take each step thoughtfully, Maraza explained the challenge he faced. His late father’s past mistake, as advised by his grandfather, hindered his ability to proceed.
“My plan was to take every single step without rushing, to demonstrate the process to my son and show my daughter the respect she deserves,” Maraza expressed.
However, his grandfather intervened. He informed him that he couldn’t complete a specific traditional step known as “ukuthela inyongo” because his father hadn’t fulfilled it during his lifetime.
Maraza reflected on the challenge, stating,
“Suffering for other people’s sins is not good, especially when those individuals did not bring joy into our lives.”
In response, Maraza expressed his commitment. He pledged to fulfill the necessary rituals on behalf of his late father, allowing him to complete his own ceremonial journey.
“As a result, I am married, but I cannot complete the ceremonies I wanted to do,” Maraza concluded.
