Miss Lira Over The Moon After Spotting Thuso Mbedu On Times Square billboard In New York
South African vocalist, Miss Lira can’t keep her excitement contained after spotting Thuso Mbedu on Times Square billboard in New York.
Thuso portrayed the role of Cora, of a young enslaved woman who escapes a Georgia plantation, making use of a subterranean train—a literal underground railroad—to travel north. The show marries a haunted magical realism with dark chapters of American history, and requires much of its heroine.
Taking to Instagram, Miss Lira expressed how excited she is to have spotted the actress on the billboard as she went ahead to congratulate her.
Lira wrote: “Wonderful to see @thuso.mbedu’s face at Times Square in NY and did she not just give a stunning performance in The Underground Railroad 👏🏾 👏🏾. Congratulations”
