Pretty Yende Is Back Like She Never Left!!!

Sometime in July, international singer Pretty Yende lost her mom, Rose Thandi Yende. Since then, she took a break from performances.

The opera singer graced the Teatr Wielki w Łodzi in Poland with her angelic voice. This was her first performance after the hiatus and it landed her a standing ovation from the attendees.

“I had a last-minute invitation to perform in Łódź, Poland with the gracious invitation by the Teatr Wielki w Łodzi last night and I’m so grateful for the great success of this debut and the warmth of the audience for the wonderful concert,” she said posted on IG after performing.

She opened up in a different post about how life has been since her mom’s demise.

“The inevitable happened on July 21. Mom passed away and since then it’s been really tough to find balance, to find hope and love, and to find joy. I apologize for the performances I had to cancel. I canceled quite a few [performances] before she passed away and afterward, it has been difficult to sing. I actually had to learn to sing again because I couldn’t sing,” said Pretty.

She went further to appreciate her friends for being patient and checking on her.

“I thank everyone who has been patient with me, sending me messages, supporting us as a family. All your words have meant so much and they continue to mean so much. Thank you for also sharing your experiences.”
