During the live stream, McNutt’s phone rang several times, including a call from his ex-girlfriend, leading to an argument.

After the call, McNutt spoke to the viewers, said his final words, and then took his own life by shooting himself below the chin.

Some viewers recorded the stream, and the New Albany Police Department received a notification but entered McNutt’s residence only after hearing the fatal gunshot.

His phone kept ringing even after his death, and the police couldn’t contact him through the speakerphone.

A message posted on Facebook after McNutt’s passing urged people to tell others that they matter, are loved, and have a future.

Two days later, McNutt was laid to rest in Snowdown Church of Christ Cemetery in Prentiss County, Mississippi.

The video of McNutt’s tragic act was downloaded and shared on various platforms, including Hoodsite, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. These clips often appeared unexpectedly in users’ feeds.

Initially, Facebook hesitated to remove the video, but they eventually did. McNutt hadn’t intended for the video to become widespread. Different versions of the video even appeared on TikTok’s “For You” page, surprising and upsetting viewers.
