“SA Food Is the Best” Tyla Talks About Her Love for Mzansi Food
Tyla, the talented South African singer behind the hit song ‘Water,’ continues to charm her fellow Mzansi netizens with her genuine personality and patriotism.
Known as Tyla Laura Seethal, the Johannesburg-born artist has been gaining popularity in the United States with her chart-topping track.
Tyla recently caught the attention of South Africans on social media for her authentic self during interviews, including a recent chat with US radio host and actor, Big Boy, on his Big Boy TV podcast.
In the interview released on November 29, Tyla discussed her viral “Water” dance challenge on TikTok, her Instagram follow from Drake, and touring with Chris Brown. The 21-year-old also touched on her GRAMMY nomination, experiences at Fashion Week, and her deep love for South African cuisine.
During the 22-minute-long interview, Tyla revealed her passion for pap (maize meal), emphasizing her commitment by traveling with it from South Africa to make it wherever she goes. When asked what she misses most about Mzansi when away, she promptly replied, “The food.”
Tyla expressed her love for South African cuisine, especially pap, and shared that she is a picky eater who seeks out good food that reminds her of home.
In her own words, she said, “I don’t really like a lot of food. Like, American food is cool, but South African food is the best, in my opinion.” Tyla’s down-to-earth nature and love for her roots continue to endear her to fans both at home and abroad.
