Simz Ngema Condemns SA Government over load-shedding
Mzansi singer Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema calls out the South African government over load-shedding.
Taking to social media, the entertainer expressed herself. She spoke about how the lack of basic amenities like electricity affects businesses.
“The government is more interested in campaigning and telling us that load shedding will be over next year. but they are not making sensible statements to show us and give us hope that indeed this is going to happen, there is going to be a solution. All we want is for the government to supply citizens with the electricity they paid for… These conversations are draining but we need to hold our government accountable,” she said in an outburst.
Simz went further to state that the government isn’t creating jobs for people. Despite that, they have managed to be self-employed. However, these CEOs cannot work effectively as basic amenities are not provided.
“It is important for us to start having these conversations. We cannot be making plans to work around load shedding as citizens when we are still paying for electricity. What is our government doing to solve this electricity crisis? It’s time for the government to step up and address the issues of the country,” she captioned the post.
The issue of load shedding has become a national issue in South Africa and lots of celebrities have spoken up about it. Hopefully, the government will do something soon.
