“Skeem Saam is a South African soap opera created by Winnie Serite. It’s been airing on SABC1 since 2011. The show is set in Johannesburg and Turfloop. Skeem Saam became really popular quickly, even competing with Generations. It’s mainly focused on young people and is produced by SABC Education. The show has been running for 10 seasons. However, in January 2021, the SABC announced a break in production starting from 1 March 2021 because the number of people watching had dropped a lot.”

Clement Maosa Career

Clement Maosa is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Zamokuhle ‘Kwaito’ Seakamela in the SABC1 drama series Skeem Saam.

Clement is from Polokwane, Limpopo. He attended school in a village called Ga-Rammutla and after matric he studied law at the University of Limpopo.

When Clement was young he wanted to be a soldier and when he reached high school he decided he would be an actor. He grew up in Bochum with his parents, two sisters and a younger brother.

Clement’s career highlights include the month he served his articles as a candidate attorney, some road shows and promotions with a commercial radio station in Limpopo and when he was registered as a model with Rezo-Lution and Media Management.

His involvement with Skeem Saam was his big break. “I saw a notification on Facebook from Mzansi fo sho about the auditions. I travelled from Limpopo to audition and fortunately I got the role.

“Kwaito is a smart teenager who is passionate about poetry, he likes reading and writing. He was not born with a golden spoon in his mouth and tries by all means to impress his mother because she loves him so much.
