Chart Data on X shared that “Tyla’s “Water” enters the top 40 on the global Spotify chart for the first time ever with 1.96 million streams(#40)

Excitedly, she retweeted the news through and quoted it with “This is for South Africa.”

Since Tyla was signed to US label Epic Records, she has been honing her skills and causing a rave in the industry.

The star has even been on international stages with top international artists like Chris Brown.

In her previous interviews, the 22-year-old has spoken about how overwhelming stardom is.

“I hope people around the world can enjoy the music, the African music because I feel we don’t have a big enough international audience. We need attention because we have so much talent.

Superstart Tyla said she doesn’t know if she’s where she is meant to be but she is getting there already.

“It feels crazy. I don’t know if I am there yet, but the international attention I am getting, I never expected it. Especially so early. I was willing to work years to get to this point and to think it happened from one song. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity. When people listen to my music, having a pop style to it, I hope it becomes a more internationally recognised sound and they start falling in love with it.”
