Ithempeli Lenkosi is the largest church in KwaZulu-Natal, led by a man named Kwazi Mthembu. This religious institution is not just about faith, as it also delves into profitable business endeavors. Many individuals are eager to join forces with the church, one of which is a water-selling enterprise.
A beverage company enters into a contract with Kwazi Mthembu’s church. The church’s leader offers a blessing for the water before it’s bottled, and it’s subsequently sold for a substantial profit. The financial gains from this venture are divided between the church and the bottling company.
However, turmoil engulfs the church when Kwazi Mthembu, its leader, is tragically killed. Two families now vie for the coveted top position. MaMzobe, the wife of the second-in-command, strongly believes her husband deserves to lead Ithempeli Lenkosi. Nevertheless, before Mthembu’s passing, he designated his eldest son, Sphamandla, as the rightful successor, even though Sphamandla was imprisoned.
MaMzode is determined to ensure that leadership remains within her family. She resorts to extreme measures, using witchcraft and hired henchmen to eliminate anyone who stands in her way, including her own two children, Xolisile and Nobuntu, fellow church members, and even the Mthembu clan. Can Sphamandla outsmart her and rightfully assume the coveted leadership role?
