South African DJ and record producer, Uncle Waffles is about to bag two Grammy Awards nominations.
The 23-year-old’s recent album Assylum is considered for the Best Global Music Album. Yahyuppiyah on the other hand, is considered for Best African Music Performance.
She announced the categories on social media and solicited the support of her fans and members of the recording academy.
“It’s been an amazing year, I’ve played 100+ international shows and I’m soo greatful for everything that continues to happen in my life. Today marks the 2 year anniversary since my life changed and I’m in awe at what has happened since, and this part of my journey is even more exciting as I’m proud to Announce that I’m in the running for two Grammys nominations, I need my babysss to share this post for me! If you’re a member of the @recordingacademy, I’d appreciate your support,” she wrote.
In the music industry, the Grammy Awards holds the highest honor among its peers. Because of this, artists long to be nominated at least.
Uncle Waffles has been doing the good work of preaching the Amapiano gospel internationally. So most believe that she is deserving of the nominations.
Her co-stars and fans have since, wished her well, praying she brings the awards home.
