Renowned singer Bulelwa ‘Zahara‘ Mkutukana, a recipient of multiple awards, tragically passed away on Monday.

This unfortunate event followed her reported battle with liver disease. A memorial service to celebrate her life is scheduled for Thursday, 14 December.

The memorial service will commence at 11:00 and conclude at 14:00 at the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg, Johannesburg.

Following the memorial, Zahara’s family will transport her to the Eastern Cape for the funeral service and burial over the weekend.

The 36-year-old Loliwe hitmaker, surrounded by loved ones, breathed her last on Monday at a private hospital in Johannesburg. She is survived by her two sisters, brother, mother, and fiancé, Mpho Xaba.

“She was a pure light, and an even purer heart, in this world. A beacon of hope, a gift and a blessing to us and countless people worldwide. A legendary figure in the world of music, Zahara remarkably touched millions of people’s lives with her extraordinary gift and passion for music.”

Also, The family expressed their desire for Zahara to be remembered as someone who healed the nation through her inspirational music.

“A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. May we remember Zahara not with sorrow, but with the healing, joy, kindness, and inspiration she brought to us. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her melodies continue to echo in our hearts forever.” Concluded the heartfelt statement.
