Arendsvlei Full Story, Plot Summary, Episodes, Casts, Teasers: Arendsvlei, which means ‘Eagle Valley,’ is a South African soap opera. It has a cast that mainly consists of Coloured actors.

The show made its debut on 1st October 2018 and was the first telenovela to air on kykNET & Kie. Originally, it was planned to be a limited series that would last for one year. Its first season even won two SAFTAs (South African Film and Television Awards).

Because of its popularity and the demand from the audience, Arendsvlei was renewed for a second season in August 2019 and a third season in August 2020.

Arendsvlei Full Story

Arendsvlei is a South African telenovela in Afrikaans, created by Theltom Masimila. It centers around a semi-private high school on the Cape Flats, operated by the Cupido family, in the fictional community of Arendsvlei.

The story follows a brother and sister who are both teachers, determined to provide quality education to as many children in the community as possible. However, they face various challenges in both their professional and personal lives.

Beatrice (played by Jolene Martin), the school’s principal, established the institution to offer affordable quality education to the local children. It’s a passion project funded by her inheritance after her father’s passing.

The people in Arendsvlei aspire to rise above their circumstances and have dreams of their own. The themes of the series cover love, deceit, murder, revenge, family secrets, teen pregnancies, depression, addiction, and homosexuality.

The show boasts a diverse ensemble cast, including Oscar Petersen, Jolene Martin, Ernest St Clair, Maria Valente De Almeida, Jody Abrahams, Melanie Du Bois, Crystal-Donna Roberts, and Sherman Pharo. Other notable cast members include Dillon Windvogel, Gretchen Ramsden, Dean Richard Olivier, Ann Juries, Rehane Abrahams, Christian Bennett, Kay Smith, Craig Adriaanse, Roberto Kyle, Celeste Matthews, and Joseph Mitchell.

Arendsvlei is a Penguin Films production for kykNET and is the first original telenovela exclusively aired on kykNET & kie. The director is Denny Y. Miller, and the head writer is Theltom Masimila. Wilmien Rossouw serves as the head storyliner, with a writing team that includes Ilse Oppelt, Margaret Goldsmid, Henry Cloete, Quanita Adams, Johann Davis, and Retief Scholtz.

The theme song is performed by Karin Kortje, and the original music is composed by Murray Anderson. Janine Cornelius is the supervising producer for kykNET & kie.
