Black Coffee Reacts To Critics Concerning His Music. [Video]
44years old South African DJ,Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo Nkosinathi popularly known by his stage name, Black coffee has expressed his opinion concerning the confusion about his music.
Speaking on ukhozi FM, he noted that he will not speak too much about this but he will just allow his music to speak for itself.
The prominent recently released an album titled Subconsciously’, the 12-track body of work which is texturally varied and sonically diverse boasts of everything from euphonious, emotion-tinged soundscapes to warm piano chords, deep house music, sultry melodies, hypnotic beats, and soulful vocals.
The album features popular artists like
Pharrell Williams, David Guetta, Tellaman, Cassie, and Usher amongst others.
“One of my biggest tracks was the one I featured David Guetta called Drive, that song had many streams because we worked hard on it. What contributed to its success was the fact that he has a lot of followers. People will always have their different opinions, they know me as a Deep House artist but all of a sudden they see me doing a song with Black Coffee.
I needed to show leadership and refrain from explaining a lot of things. I wanted to show my versatility,” he told the radio station.His fans have been wondering why he decided to switch up his sound to appeal to that of American and British fans. Even the likes of Kabza De Small decided to poke fun at the DJ.
Critics have also trolled the DJ for constantly saying he does not make music for South Africans anymore.
