DJ Vettys Struggles for Survival in Hospital After Being Shot

South African DJ, DJ Vettys, is currently in critical condition after being shot on Monday evening.

A statement from DJ Vettys’ management confirmed that he survived but is in a critical state, undergoing treatment at an undisclosed hospital. The family and management expressed gratitude for the outpouring of concern and requested continued prayers for DJ Vettys’ speedy recovery.

In an update provided by DJ Vettys’ manager, Ipeleng Thakanyane, to Sunday World, the shooting occurred in Pretoria West. The family plans to share details with the public eventually. However, they currently find it challenging to disclose specific information about the incident.

This incident follows a similar pattern of violence against musicians, as seen with the shooting of Itumeleng “Vusi Ma R5” Mosoeu in January 2023. Mosoeu was fatally shot outside a tavern in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.
