Kiernan Forbes, who was professionally known as AKA, was shot dead in February, right outside a restaurant in Durban.

After the rapper’s death, his fourth album Mass Country was released posthumously by Sony and Vth A. The album subsequently has recorded great achievements, on being reaching the platinum status.

Tony spoke with TshishaLIVE explaining how life has been after his son’s death.

“I feel emotional, proud and also grateful that we had him. Though he died at 35, when he left this life he had made a mark on the world,” he told the publication.

“It’s not about the volume of sales. For me it’s that people want to hear his music, to remember him and feel inspired by him,”

Tony confirms that the investigation is slow, but he however would want the investigation to be thoroughly done. That way, justice can be properly served.

“There are days where one hopes to hear the news that something happened. But we still want to give the process space. We are in touch with investigators and they keep us abreast, it does seem slow, but it’s only [been] six months.”

Forbes cleared the air about the mixed feelings his night life has been giving people. He said, being in places where his son worked helps him grief and makes him feel closer to AKA.
