“I’m Back in the Studio, I’m Super Thrilled”- Moozlie
Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena is making a triumphant return to the music scene.
A while ago, she shifted her focus from music to taking on roles as the creative director for Era By DJ Zinhle and Drip, as well as fulfilling her duties as an MC.
While juggling these commitments, Moozlie is back in the studio and eagerly anticipating sharing her music with the world. She expressed her excitement, saying, “It’s going to Baby Boy and Blanco. I’m back in the studio, I’m super thrilled. I’m sounding amazing too, if I can say so myself.” That’s how I’m going to kick off this new year because my network is incredible. I could call anyone, so I’m excited for what’s to come,” she shared with TshisaLIVE.
Having been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry for over a decade, Moozlie has successfully reinvented herself over the years. She is not only one of the most sought-after MCs in Mzansi but also an award-winning rapper and was honored as GQ’s Best Dressed Woman.
Reflecting on her journey, Moozlie emphasized the importance of growth and evolution, stating,
“As you grow and evolve, you always want what you do to be bigger than you. With this, I’ve been able to learn about retail on another level, I’ve been able to learn about marketing, and that’s bigger than me.”
As an independent artist, Moozlie stressed the significance of ownership, especially in a male-dominated industry. She highlighted the challenges faced by black female artists and emphasized the importance of recognition as equals. Despite occasional frustrations, she embraces being labeled a female rapper, seeing it as a source of competitive edge and flair. Moozlie hopes that young girls entering the industry won’t tire of it, recognizing that these distinctions make them stand out.
