Netizens Go Head to Head over Jub Jub and Amanda Du-Pont’s court case.

Swazi-South African actress Amanda Du-Pont accused hip-hop artist Jub Jub of rape. The plaintiff claimed that Molemo Maarohanye rapped her when she was in a 2-year relationship with him in 2006.

Maarohanye was arraigned on the charges of rape, assault and attempted murder. The court however granted him bail of R10.000 and he’s to return to court on August 24.

Ever since the case got to the public, both Jub Jub and Du-Pont have been a topic of the trend for netizens.

Women’s advocacy group- Women for Change has shown their solidarity with Amanda through their posts on Twitter.

“Molemo Maarohanye, known as Jub Jub, handed himself over to the police on 27 July 2023…

“She accused Jub Jub of rape and attempted murder and opened a case against him in February 2022. We are standing with Amanda.” They captioned a picture of the plaintiff on their Twitter.

These posts nevertheless have met lots of backlash, causing the group to close their comments session.
