Nhlanhla Mafu Says All Is Well With Mafikizolo

Unconfirmed rumors suggest that Mafu’s new boyfriend is causing tension between her and Theo Kgosinkwe, her bandmate of nearly 25 years.

Despite Mafu dismissing these claims, stating they are baseless, the group has found itself in the midst of trending discussions. Mafu made headlines a few months ago when she publicly introduced her new partner and frequently shared pictures of them.

Although the rumors are denied, insider sources reveal that there have been difficulties between the two band members. There are speculations that they no longer interact during performances.

This isn’t the first time the group has faced negative publicity; earlier reports suggested a potential split. In September 2023, it was rumored that Nhlanhla Mafu was leaving Mafikizolo to pursue a solo career, but nothing materialized.

A source close to the group shared with ZiMoja, stating, “She isolates herself by sitting in the car, and after performances, she leaves immediately. This is not the Nhlanhla we know. She is now acting like a celebrity even to us.” The source also mentioned that Mafu no longer socializes or communicates with those who were once close to her.

Despite these claims, Mafu, in response to media inquiries, rubbished rumors of pursuing a solo career, saying, “I am not working on a solo project. People are just bored.”
