Zozibini Tunzi Is Presently The Longest Reigning Miss Universe. [Video]

Mzansi’s beauty queen, Zozibini Tunzi  has officially made history by being the longest reigning Miss Universe.

The 27-year-old  was crowned Miss Universe in December 2019, still holds the title Miss. because the international pageant wasn’t held last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Although her victory made her the third South African woman to win the title, as well as the first black woman since 2011.

However, the 69th Miss Universe pageant will be held on 16 May in Florida, USA.

It’s officially been 466 days since Zozi was crowned Miss Universe. Before Zozi, Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes from Angola held the record for the longest reign, holding the title for 464 days from 12 September 2011 to 18 December 2012.

The Miss South Africa Organisation celebrated Zozi on its social media platforms for reaching the milestone. The organisation also thanked her for being an inspiration.

“Extraordinary times call for extraordinary leaders! Today we celebrate Zozi as the longest-reigning Miss Universe at a record of 465days! Thank you for taking up space and inspiring us all,” it wrote.
