Makhadzi, including him in her SAMA performance for his birthday, seemed to be the point of contention for Khoza. In the podcast, he criticized the SAMAs as mediocre and questioned why Skomota was being celebrated.

Makhadzi responded on X (formerly Twitter), stating that Khoza doesn’t support the success of Limpopo artists. The award-winning singer urged people to celebrate what brings them joy without overshadowing someone else’s achievements.
