Award-winning artist Makhadzi, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, is facing accusations of a no-show at an event she was booked for on December 24th last year.

Makhadzi in Financial Sandal Again

The event organizer from Mpumalanga is now demanding reimbursement from the star after she failed to honor two scheduled performances.

Initially, they booked Makhadzi to perform at three venues: Ekus Cafe, Mdhluli Outlets in Nelspruit, and Quiet Vibes in Bushbuckridge, all in Mpumalanga. Event organizer Mfundo “Thonsi” Mathonsi expresses regret for placing trust in Makhadzi and her management.

For two gigs, Makhadzi charged R50,000, and for the third one, she requested R35,000 along with the booking of eight rooms.

Despite the organizers going the extra mile to meet her demands and ensuring sold-out events, Makhadzi failed to show up on the 24th. She also didn’t appear on the rescheduled date on the 27th. This resulted in the organizers having to repay ticket holders, causing a substantial financial loss.

Attempts to communicate with Makhadzi and her manager, Maphuthi Perez, have reportedly been unsuccessful. Phone calls from the organizers are allegedly being ignored, with Perez even blocking their calls. The organizers stress that they have evidence of the bookings, including payment slips and WhatsApp conversations where promises of reimbursement were made.

Makhadzi Has Refused to Refund Fully

Evidence in possession of ZiMoja shows that money was indeed paid into an account belonging to Makhadzi Entertainment. While Makhadzi reportedly returned R50,000 through her manager, the full amount remains unpaid.

The organizers express their reluctance to resort to legal action. However, they emphasize their need to recover the funds without harming their working relationships with other artists.

When contacted for comment, Thonsi confirmed the booking but cited Makhadzi’s alleged puncture on the way to Nelspruit. He refrained from sharing more details, stating that it is a matter between two parties.

This incident adds to Makhadzi’s history of controversies related to bookings and no-shows. She faced a similar situation in the previous year. Despite attempts to seek comments from Makhadzi and her manager, they have not responded to calls or texts from ZiMoja.
