This was an arrangement between the two, to take off Nandi from Zakes Bantwini’s property which include properties in Morning Side worth R1.5 million, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Johannesburg, Gauteng worth R3.5 million making it a total of R5 million.

The couple who wanted a prenuptial agreement before marriage, only got themselves landed in a community marriage following their misunderstanding with their marriage officer. And just last week the couple applied for a petition to dissolve their marriage at the Johannesburg High Court.

Sunday World wrote that they saw the contents of Zakes Bantwini’s affidavit which pleads with the courts to agree to change their marriage contracts. The musician says they both wanted to get married without the use of an accrual system. The couple discovered this when they were discussing their personal finances.

According to Zakes affidavit,

“As a result of (a) misunderstanding between ourselves and the marriage officer, who conducted the marriage ceremony, we understood incorrectly as it now appears that he would be in position to ensure that our marriage would be out of community property without the application of the accrual system”.

“At all material times, it was the intention of the second applicant and myself to be married out of community of property without application of the accrual system,”

Zakes has also accepted in his plea, to go into a post-nuptial notarial contract instead of the accrual system because they both have very successful careers and get paid separately.
